Poor cutting quality (edging)

Radial scratches/grooves and/ or breakouts at the clippings could have been caused by the following:

An uneven lateral projection of the carbide tooth can cause scratches on the sawn timber’s surface.
Possible causes: a production fault or an error during edge sharpening of the carbide tooth
  • Dismantlement of the tool and repair (edge sharpening)

A missing carbide-small plate causes a rough surface with breakouts at the bottom of the sawn timber. Breaking of the carbide-small-plate can be caused by:

  • foreign bodies in the wood
  • soldering defects in production
  • wrong quality of carbide
dismantlement of tools and repair (renewing of carbide-small-plate)

Lacking axial true run of the saw and/or stencil rings
  • Check clamping and flatness and appropriate rework of the saw – re-grinding of the stencil rings
