Discoloration of sawn timber

Discoloration of sawn timber

The sawn timber’s surface displays a brown discoloration in the area of the bottom and top saw’s projection.

What causes these brownish discolourations?

In most cases this problem is caused by a too small /low chip space of the climb cutting (circular saw).

  • Reduction of the feed rate
  • change of the saw shaft’s rotational direction to counter rotation
  • new layout of the saw blade
